iDrive DTC/DSC message after software update

I remember seeing the iDrive message of "DTC activated, DSC limited" or something like that when I press the DTC button once.

However, I tried to press the DTC button once today (after months of not messing with it) and noticed that I no longer get that iDrive message. The DTC light on the dashboard lights up, but no iDrive message. When i hold the button down, I still get the DSC off message on iDrive.

Can anyone else confirm this on their car? The only thing I can think of that changed is that I took my car in for the 335 HPFP recall and got the software update.

Software update seems mostly likely to me. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Maybe makesure your DSC is actually limited when you press it. In otherwords, step on the gas mid-corner and see if it slides more than when the system is fully on.
See if you can activate Cruise Control when you turn it off, it shouldn't let you.

Yeah I actually did exactly what you said today and confirmed that DSC is indeed limited with just a single press. I'll try the cruise control thing tomorrow. Thanks for the advice!

Probably just a routine software update then - as long as the system
still works, I wouldn't worry!
