New to the forum 335is

So i have been a happy audi owner for about 7 years owning B6, B7 and B8 A4's. Overall i have been very happy with the cars all of which were manual transmission. I have had enough for now driving a manual car around los angeles and began to explore my options. I love having a stick car and love the feeling of how a manual car perfroms. I think i have found my solution i recently ordered a Le Mans blue 335is with the DCT transmission. I test drove a convertible with this transmission and immediatey fell in love. Now dont get me wrong i still love manual and nothing compares but i need the next closest thing which i believe is the DCT transmission. The DCT transmission is what sold me on the car. Does anyone here have any experience with the transmission or own one? I am aware that the performance numbers with the DCT are slightly better but that had nothing to do with my decision. Looking forward to coming out to some of the bmw events/meets.

Got mine in October and already have 13K miles. I can't stay out of it seeing that it is so fun to drive. I love the DCT. Put the shifter in Sport and press the Sport button and turn on the DTC and enjoy. Sometimes I drive in manual in order to facilitate downshifting but mostly I stay in Drive for boring daily stuff and Sport for fun. Post pics.

I too came from manuals and recently got a 335is with DCT. The DCT is a fast shifter and works well. But I just don't feel like I'm driving the car anymore. I'll keep the car for a few more years, but I'm pretty sure my next car will be manual. I'm not dissing the DCT, its a great system, but just isn't for me.

Congratulations! I just heard from my CA that my Crimson Red 335is 6 MT has shipped and is on it's way now. Should be picking it up in a couple of weeks. Cannot wait.

yea, I test drove a DCT cab before coupes came out and it is what sold me. Within 3 shifts on the freeway onramp, I fully made up my mind that DCT had to be mine. If the 335i came with a DCT, they wouldn't have had a flying chance in hell of getting me to buy a pricier 335is.
