Anyone have the Intake Manifold swap done at a shop?

My buddy wants to have this proceedure done, because he rode with me in my car, and I have the 3 stage intake manifold. I don't want to do the job again on his car. Anyone know what the shop would charge if we showed up with the parts?

why don't you just call shops in your area and ask for a quote? that's like you asking me how much my barber in Charlotte, NC charges to cut hair..

It all depends on how much the shops in YOUR area charges for labor per hour takes maybe 3 hours to install

And now you should have some experience in doing it so why no charge your friend a bit and do it for him.

What's sort of gains are you getting from the intake maifold. I heard that without a tune it doesn't make much of a difference.

The gains are amazing

My 325i was a snail before I did the Intake Manifold swap. I never drove it without the tune. I did the AA Tune at the same time. The AA Tune is flawless, I highly recommend it. It felt like I dropped in a new engine. An amazing upgrade. The intake manifold project was not a quick process, it took me days. I would much rather pay a shop to do the work. I have more $$ than time... albiet not much

The job is on the books. It's 2.5hrs to replace the manifold. BMW techs will know how to get the manifold off and on quickly. Most BMW indy shops here in the bay area are around $140/hr.

^^^^HAHAHA!!! I love it... I got my donefor $320 ($20 towards a new gasket) I still haven't done the AA tune yet but the car runs smoothly. I notice a bit more pull after 4500rpm which is nice I think in a year or 2 i'll do the gintani tune with Gavin at MMW or send my ECU off for the AA tune. I dunno which will be better for me.

Thank you, this is the answer I was looking for.

.......I got my done for $320

Did you assemble the Intake Manifold and Actuators yourself? That took me about an hour, off the car.

Thanks for an actual answer based on having the work done. Instead of a guestimation that anyone could do.

P.S. do the tune, and use AA. I have flashed with both. Gavin is a great guy, but use AA for the Tune...
