AT shifted on its own in M mode

Hey guys so I was on my way back from bimmerfest east yesterday and I was driving in M mode.

I hit about 4.5k in 3rd and shifted into 4th. However my car proceeded to shift up into 5th, then 6th on its own.

Anyone else experience this?

Not in a BMW, but did it just happen once or did it continue to occur? Even after you turned the car off and back on?

"Not in a BMW"?

It only happened once on the way back yesterday. I didn't stop to restart the car because it acted fine afterwards.

Weird....

Yeah I meant to say but I have seen it happen on some GM vehicles. If it isn't frequent then I wouldn't worry about. There is a thread right around this one that talks about resetting the transmission. Maybe that would help.

Well I just had my gear selector lever assembly replaced under CPO.

The microswitch apparently failed. I think it was just a glitch....hopefully.
