Back seat go down?

I am disappointed that the rear seat of my 528i 2011 does not fold down to extend trunk space. Am I missing something?

In UK its an option and a rip off - should be standard

there is a way to remove it but its not worth the effort to remove it and the chance to break it. it breaks when you accidentally bend it, the back support will crack and leave a permanent crease.

even my 96 civic had standard folding backseat.

Seriously BMW, older/cheaper cars don't have this so called "option" folding rear seats should be standard, what a rip off

Why should people who don't want/need it have to pay for it? I don't understand the "X should be standard" meme at all. At what price should X be standard?

Apparently the car is slightly stiffer and quieter without Split Folding Rear Seats. However I have that option and I like it a lot.

One of the many reasons I had to order my car was to get this option.

Seriously such a bs attempt at a cash grab. The cheapest and most basic cars have some sort of folding rear seats as standard. If anything (and if they are really concerned of added noises) it should be a no-cost option. Lame.

So you would be more satisfied if the base price were $500 higher and the folding seats were standard? (i would have no use for the sedan or my E92 coupe without a folding seat, but I still don't see why it should be standard.)
