Wheel Storage bags

After taking the plunge on a winter wheel set up I began to get ache of my missus about wheels all over the garage.
So I began looking around for storage options (brackets, bags etc not wheel hotels) and came across wheel bags on e-bay. I live between Yorkshire and Scotland so I am more Fugal than both of them put together. I saw some Audi wheel storage bags which went for around £35+pp way above my price range. So more trawling and VW do one £29.99 delivered from a VW dealer.
So looked up the part on the VW site phoned the local dealer got quoted £25 asked for discount and hey presto £23.30.
I hope this will protect my wheel while they are off the car.
Hope this may be of interest to some members.
Dave.

Mine are stored on top of one another on the tumble dryer - is that wrong? They do have towels inbetween them though!

I have a similar set of those bags just without the branding, they are good but do not in any way protect the wheel. I have a small piece of carpet placed between each wheel to keep the alloy from getting damaged.

You guys are funny!

Those bags will just get damp and full of spiders, mice, cat wee etc (at TBH are a bit, you know, erm 'lady like')

Just stack them on top of each other, no need for a separator as the tyre edges stick way over the rims so no chance of the rims touching.

Mywheels have done 2 years of rotation like this, no marks or anything.

And more to the point if the OP kept his wife out of the garage (a place I'm sure she has no business) this wouldn't be a problem.

Man up dghdgh! Leave your wheels wherever you want to leave them!

I think there are some plastic wheel bags available for less than £1 each on the parts catalogue.
BMW now also offer an insured central wheel storage at their warehouse for £25 inc VAT per term, the recall of course is free of charge (as you would expect).

Won't using VW tyre bags invalidate your warranty?

Get the local sheet metal lads to make a simple rack from angle iron, and bolt to the wall, up out of the way.

Plus 1, mine are stacked in a corner too with no problems. Think of what they go through on your car!

Mine are just stacked... 2 offcut pieces of wood between each one to stop them sliding and marking each other.
