Car Insurance...renewal same price!
Yep, I am amazed too.
With LV, and I moved both cars to them last year. Both renewals have come in, for just about the same price How refreshing LV, what a unique idea to keep your customers with you.

Still worth running a few fresh quotes and you may get an even better deal |

Yeap, I reckon they are doing a huge customer acquisition drive....they were cheapest last year when I switched to them.

Refreshing indeed. Aviva seem to be the cheapest for me over the last couple of years but I have to go through a ridiculous little routine of getting a price as a new customer at renewal time. The renewal price was £100 more.

More Than:
Was £362.00 last year, this year £549.99, (no changes/claims/convictions) rang them was told their average increase was 38-40% this year ! Told them I was not paying £549.99, and would cancel car, house & contents insurance etc, I was immediately offered £100.00 discount !! Just trying it on - Unbelievable. |

Sorry to TMP but this is turning into a general insurance moan!
I was paying a shade over £300 for my wife's Touran. The renewal was a shade over £400. I rang Aviva for an explanation but they couldn't do anything about the price. I was advised to apply as a new customer even though they know I'm not plus my car and the home insurance are with them. So, half hearted attempt at an online quote (just get further than contact details) and they'll call next day from the new business department to see how you went on. Bingo. Cheap price. The added craziness is that you then have to phone Aviva to cancel your existing policy before the new one can start! |

I've got both my car and the wife's Touran with LV and so far I have been really pleased with the price and the service.

I really dont know how car insurance companies work.....
I have always had my dad on as a named driver on all my insurance policies and last year I was with Swiftcover and everything was fine, the car was an e46, 325i. Bought my 335i and they wouldnt insure my dad who is 61 and hasnt claimed for 15 years, but are happy to cover me at the age of 26 with only 5 years experience. LV were the best price me too and they would insure my dad, so changed last month.

What would bother me, is that LV are attracting (gathering in) all these new customers with competitive prices, but then will probably increase prices on each renewal.
Sure some customers will search for lower premiums and move, but lots will stay at the increased price(the too busy & cannot be bothered types), most people like continuity and stay with the same company, and thats where the companies will take advantage. |

They all do it. Insurance companies have obviously done their sums and decided that getting new business and keeping their fingers crossed that punters will stay after the first year is the way to go.
