If you define an 'enthusiast' as someone seeking performance, you wouldn't be driving a BMW, you'd be driving a Corvette. A comparably priced Corvette to any BMW is going to offer superior performance to any BMW at the same price point if that is the only measure. That said, when I had my e93, the car was hands-down the best all around vehicle for fun, quick, and comfortable that I've ever owned. My Corvette would have smoked it in performance, but the BMW had it hands down over the Vette in everything except 'Right foot to the floor' and 'Turn at high speed'. And you're not doing that terribly often in a DD class car like a BMW is. To get back to this thread topic, I think it's been said. Lower production numbers, and the Hard top vert 335i (and e93 M3 for that matter) are keepers. I sold mine for a steal last year and sincerely regret it. Please elaborate how I am not an enthusiast because I own a E93? Would love to hear the reason(s).

Having owned one, I'd take an e93 over an e92 ANY day of the week, everyting else equal. I'll spend a lot more time utilizing my drop top than you will utilizing the performance advantage on the street. Plus, I much prefer the rear window on an e93 than I do on an e92 |

I agree. Having owned a E92 328, E92 M3 and now E93 335. I would take the vert anyday even with the 400-500 extra pounds. I enjoy it and consider myself an huge enthusiast. Not every enthusiast tracks their cars or needs to.

I am not saying "you" or anyone else isnt an enthusiast..they are nice cars but not the ideal platform to performance mod.. And certainly comparing a Ferrari and a BMW isnt a fair comparision..but hey you know that..you are an enthusiast.. |

There is nothing like driving with the top down in a scenic location. I often drive in the mountains in the back country of San Diego with my girlfriend at night, there is nothing out there but the stars and moon shining down. No light pollution or cars, just miles of open roads and fields. I drove my brother's e92 335i, and it was nice but i'll take my car any day here in California.

According to this thread the only optimal car to get to be a BMW enthusiast is a E90 or E92 335i. So you 328 owners are SOL. For all the money people are putting into their 335s (myself included) why not get a 1M, M3, M5, M6 since they will outperform the 335, would seem to me that would be the real enthusiasts choice. If all we are concerned about is curb weight and modability you all should have bought a 1 series...../soapbox

hahaha i love the comment, if you want performance get a corvette! LOL too funny
what i mean is most people who like to mod their car like to race their car too, hence why they mod it! or maybe thats just me. but i sure dont take convertibles to the race track, i take em to the beach with a fine brunette in the passenger seat |
