19 kids.. and counting..

So... The Duggars are having #20!

and the wife is 45 years old.. I have some questions:

#1 - WTF?

#2 - How can Jim feel anything to achieve such an act?

I mean I have waived my boner around in the air before, and I imagine that is what it would be like with his old lady.. Brings new meaning to hotdog down a hall way

#3 - Do you think they will stop when:
3a - She dies.
3b - a miscarriage

lets discuss.

i fear the day i have A kid, let alone 20.

it's hard for me to judge someone else's family from behind my keyboard, but i think it's a little sick to have that many kids. i have an aunt that squeezed out 8 children and she'll tell you it's been everything but easy. it's hard to give every child the attention it needs when there are 19 others requiring the same care. i believe it's sort of a selfish addiction, especially having a reality show about it.

Dad a teacher who had a friend like this too. Said the wife just loved the feeling of being preggos. They were wealthy enough to pay for all the diapers so it didn't matter.

Maybe they're trying to start a family orchestra.

How do you know she hasn't already experienced a miscarriage?

Probably some deep underlining psychological issues to explain why they would do this.

+ 1...also leads me to believe she has golden treasure under that skirt. That has to be some good stuff to put up with 20 kids.

When you have that many kids, the eldest kids probably need to start taking on parental duties. Can't imagine growling up in that environment. Can't imagine getting any privacy.

Oh man, Ive watched the show... They have their own congregation - dads a preacher type for the local church, and they travel as a family band to play at churches.. (not knocking religion, but damn)

Never watched the show. Somehow it makes more sense this way. The pieces are coming together. Guessing they're some derivative of the Catholic faith.

Wouldn't be surprised if I hear about this guy forming a cult in future years. He already has 20+ members in his congregation.

Maybe I'm a bitter person, but this type of shit makes me angry.

We are already overpopulating an overexploited planet. The amount of arable land in the world cannot compete with the ever-rising population. The global food crisis gets worse every year, and it will start affecting "developed" countries soon. Technically it already has, as food prices are beginning to get higher and higher; they're just not high enough yet for people to be as pissed off about it as they get about gas prices. People like this are in denial about the state of the world, and just live to spread their seed in the form of kids they can't even take care of properly.

Now I know who I have to thank when my future kids ask "Daddy, what were the rainforests?" and "Daddy, what do you mean Santa used to live in the snow and not at the big ocean at the top of the world?"

And the worst part is that it's usually dumb religious nuts who take "be fruitful and multiply" to the extreme, so the genes for being a dumbass get passed on.

Not to mention the fact that the risk of giving birth to a child with birth defects SKYROCKETS after 40. Cruel to those kids.

Dysgenics was always the road humankind was destined to head down. Fit is more important than smarts.

Reminds me of Idiocracy. Crappy film but good message and concept.
