BMW S1000RR Akrapovic headers with stock mufler
Just wanted to share a vid, My bike has the full race Akrapovic exhaust but I removed the shorty can and placed the stock can back to see if it will still produce a nice sound, and to my surprise it did. Removing the huge catalytic converter from the bike was a huge improvement. The bike feels a lot lighter and the extra horsepower is very welcome, plus the sound is sick.

No video of the R1, cant ride it right now duet to a highside thanks to a stupid lady backing up in the middle of the road on a 1 way street and my escape rout being covered with sand.

Just wanted to experiment, looking for a different option for track days. If the worst ever happens and I drop it on that side at least Im not spending $800 on a new can, unbolt the stock one and slip the akra back on after the track day and you are done. It takes about 5 min to change.

The 2012 is sick, the tail section looks a lot better and better power distribution, specially on the midrange, but after a new exhaust and power commander, the power might be a little intimidating for some.

You're making me anxious! I sold my ZX-6R for this and everything I've read agrees that the S1KRR is a force to be reckoned with. The 1199 will be interesting to watch! It's nipping at the heels of BMW!

I like the Duc, and now the 1199 comes with the power to match the looks, trust me a nice bike. I have ridden the 1098 and 1198, and both are amazing bikes, but a BMW is a BMW, and thats all you need to know. If I was to buy an italian superbike my money would go to the MV Agusta F4RR.
