6 pot diesel itch became too much
So I scratched it, next friday I will be the proud owner of a 2011 325D M SPORT.
Not a great spec but oh boy the sound of that engine and fast enough for my needs. Spec 2011 325D M SPORT Mineral white Coral red leather Options 19" light alloy Double-spoke style 313M 5Year/60000 Miles Service Inclusive Anthracite Bamboo wood. high-gloss Auto transmission M Sport leather steeri Automatic Gearbox Bluetooth hands-free facility Metallic paint Seat heating. front Sun protection glass Trackstar USB audio interface Had to go the PCP( which I know sod all about) route as I owe bmw a lot of money as I only got my 320D SE COUPE in july this year. But ha ho I will be in a 6 pot at last, of course pics to follow. |

I take it it's another E92? The mineral White with Red leather looks great. Enjoy.

Awesome engine, exactly the same as in the 330d which means for a few hundred quid you gain nearly an extra 100bhp which is very rare with just a simple remap!
I love the sound of mine, especially in manual mode where you can carry say 3rd gear cleanly from about 30 mph and listen to the engine note change right through the rev range! Congrats on the new car!

Aye, you'll enjoy it. I got mine in May........ plenty power when you need it but as has been said, an easy remap which I'm looking forward to getting done once I'm out of warranty. Planning on keeping mine a long time so I'll just be patient! Averaging 47mpg too which can't be bad.

Don't know about the extra 100bhp but the 2011 325d is apparently the same oily bits as the 330d, including injectors, and is just restricted by the engine management system.

So, if you're going to buy a 3 series diesel 6 pot with the intention of a remap then you're simply wasting money going for the 330.

I bought mine from click4gap.co.uk just a couple of weeks ago. It came to £139 for £17.5k over 3 years, RTI. Quidco also tracked at £30.

Congrats nice spec!
I can confirm - 325d (204 bhp Model) goes to around 300 bhp and from 600 to 700 nm. Mine is currently about 295 and a tad more than 650 nm Goes like nuts! |

I really wish I hadn't read this post. I used to have a 325d Msport and Loved it, traded it in for a older 320d due to my mileage at that time, since then my mileage has come down considerably, and since then I've really missed the noise of the 6 pot diesel - so much that when I saw your post I thought ahh I'm not the only one, anyway, popped into local bmw dealer to see what was about, got chatting to a salesperson who had a rather nice 325 on the books, but it had brown leather, so wasn't too fussed, and i walked away saying the figures didn't add up, anyway he phoned me today and said he had a le mans blue 330d specced up to the eyeballs going, and proceeded to give me a reasonable deal, so i snapped it up, so If I hadn't of read your post, I'd be richer, but pissed off every time I listened to the engine, can't wait to get me new 330d, I just need to tell the misses now - time for a crash helmet !!
