New 2010 Toyota Supra
Disregard if this is a
I'm in a class of sorts for Real Estate and heard through another student (40'ish), who worked in Toyota corp headquarters, that Toyota will be introducing a new TT supra around 2010 and a new motorcycle. He was telling a few of us that this new supra will have over 500hp and hinted it might be quite a bit higher than that. Emphasized the car had a lot of new technology in it such as adjusting suspension like you find on exotics, changes with speed. He said it will have "high speed capabilities" ...what does that mean, no idea...fast I guess...he was saying over 200mph top speed. he was vague. He said they had plans to release it around 2008 but have pushed it back to 2010, he didn't give a reason. Just thought i'd see if anyone else has heard about this? He wouldn't say much more...and trust me i'm not making this up, i'm not in the habbit of posting bs. |

Yeah there was a rumor about the MK V coming out this year or next, but that turned out to be bogus. If theres any high performance vehicle that comes out, it'll be under the Lexus badge, not Toyota. There are no plans to bring the Supra back. Sad, but reality.
This is a repost. Theres another thread about it that was made like 3 months ago I think. I posted some stuff on there that was from the Supraforum with the head of toyota stating that the Supra isnt coming back anytime soon.

I've read rumors of the new Supra. Wiki even has an entry. Most sources have the old rumors as really being the new Lexus LF-A prototypes.

Well I thought i'd mention it since it came straight from someone who works in Toyota's Corp office.
I'm surprised it was a repost, haven't been on the forum that long...didn't realize anyone else was aware of this. |

yeah.....but the alternator went out....and i didn't want to replace it.
but the real reason was that i couldn't find anyone to pass(illegally) my "SMOG" test.....so I sold it. my mechanic who did it for me for the previous 3-4 times moved.......

I love those cars( supras, rx7, Z and starions) in the 80's. I had a 87 and 88 starion. My friend had the 88 supra with NOS. Great cars back then.
