Hey guys, I have been a long time BMW fan and have owned two e30's and most recently a Cooper S. I finally stepped up to the big(ger) leagues and got a 2006 330i 6 speed sedan. Loving it so far, seems to be in great shape with only 50k miles and sports/prem/cold weather packages. Minor mods by the previous owner who bought it as a CPO. CF lip pieces up front, AFE intake and I believe aftermarket wheels, I have never seen them sold by BMW, but I have not had a chance to pull one off and read the back yet (Any ideas? some sort of CSL rep). Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated. Been a member of quite a few car forums over the years so it is nice to find another reputable board.

On to the pics

Welcome and congratulations on the new ride! Black looks great when its clean, but can be a pain in the ass to keep it that way.

Welcome! Pretty sure they’re aftermarket wheels. Some of the other mods I’m spotting are the lip on the trunk, Blackline taillights, the pedal covers, Shift knob (which is permanently attached to the boot so loosen the boot first if you ever have to pull the knob off or you’ll tear it apart), judging from pic 5 I’d guess a SSK has been installed. Nice ride.
You should do a search of this forum for instructions tuning the Logic 7 audio system. It’s awesome!

Cool, yeah I was curious if a short shift kit had been added. The knob seemed lower than I would of expected but I wasn't sure. I also noticed the blackline tails as well as the lip on the trunk and the pedals. None of those will really effect functionality so as far as I am concerned they are just nice bonuses. The ssk is probably fine but buying modded cars always concerns me a bit, being unsure of the parts used and who did the work.

The car over all is super clean, all the door jams are spotless, the paint is pretty good (minus a few chips from rocks on the hood/front bumper). So I am hoping since they took good care of the interior and exterior they took good care of it mechanically as well.

I actually already tuned the audio system with someones guide on this site. Sounds much better than the default settings!

Thanks for the welcome!

So I get in and on my way to work this morning the stereo sounded a bit off. Turns out my drivers door tweeter and speaker are not producing any sound. Any ideas? Factory amp issues possible?

The paint is in amazing shape, but is does have some imperfections. There are a handful of chips in the hood/front bumper from road debris hitting it. Other than that everything looks amazing.

Our 325i does the same thing. I turn the the volume all the way up momentarily and it seems to work until the car is shut off, then have to do it all over again.

A suggestion would be to pull the door panel off and make sure that the speaker is connected. I had read somewhere in the forums of someone else doing this same thing and finding that the speaker wire was disconnected. Seems to me from what I remember, they pulled on the wiring harness ever so slightly go gain some slack in the wire harness so that it did not disconnect again. Maybe check in the audio section or the DIY section.

This is usually an indication that the speaker's voice coil is somewhat seized. It takes some more initial power to get it moving, but once it does, it's ok. When it stops moving it'll seize up again. My driver's side midrange was doing the same, and it was replaced under the 4/50 warranty.

The amp may be bad. . Easiest way to tell is swap the side speakers and see if the issue follows.
