An 11.1@123? This car is just getting absurd at this point; I am going to have to rob a bank now.

Still incredible, but its the exact same result Insideline got with the 2012 model....dunno how that happened.

Edit: It was the 2012 Black Edition they tested last year, anyone know the difference?

Probably has to do with weather variations or track prep / conditions. Either way it will be a small difference as there is only like a 20 HP difference but for a stock car that is beyond impressive; the 911 turbo S is the only car in that class that can take that out but costs double.

If I was buying one, I'd pick up a Cobb AP with protune and HKS exhaust and have it running 10.8's @ 130 all day long with those 2 mods.

The black edition is nothing other than different wheels with difference interior appointments; no mechanical or performance differences.

Yes, but the 911 turbo S is MUCH faster. It traps 129/130 bone stock. And over 100 mph, the turbo S pulls like very few cars can/do and certainly the top end on the gtr has been known to be its weak point.
The GTR is still a performance bargain, but you definitely dont get the same level of refinement in any aspect as the 911 turbo.

^^ I can't wait for the 991TT/S. If the C2S can lap the 'ring as quickly as a 997.2 TTS then it's going to be unbelievable.

This is true but you are paying double because it is a Porsche. I can have a Z06 for 80K, put intake and exhaust on it and run down top end almost any car including the 911 Turbo S for half the price. Remember the Turbo S is still an AWD which will also suffer top end and is heavier than a Vette Z06 for example and not nearly as aerodynamic. The 911 Gt2rs on the other hand...

Remember also that the Z06 Nurgburgring Spec is not beaten on that track by any car close to its price.

The 991 S is as fast as the 997.2 GT3 and as fast as the 458 italia (both of which ran 7:40).

The GT2 or GT3 RS especially with PDK are going to set new Ring records. I think the GT2 will be around 7:10 or under.

Now youre talking modded vs stock.

Obviously someone buying a 911 turbo S isnt going to be shopping for a z06.

One thing you fail to understand is, the z06s are geared very tall and once you hit 5th gear, they hit a wall and that 911 turbos in dry conditions put 100% power to the rear wheels.
Just for you to understand,

0-300 kph (186 mph)

997 turbo s - 36.6 seconds
997 GT2 - 36.2
c6 z06 - 41.8 seconds
zr1 - 35.5 seconds

So even though the 911 turbo S has 100 less hp and has about the same weight, its about as quick to 186 mph as the zr1 and absolutely crushes the z06. Bolts ons are not going to shave ~6 seconds off the z06s time because its not geared for top end wheras the turbo s is geared for top end. Few cars pull over 100 mph as hard as a 911 (whether its rwd or awd 911).
And furthermore, I listed the time for the 997.1 GT2 there. You can see that the turbo s and gt2 ran almost identical times even though the turbo S is heavier, has awd. They both have the same hp so that shows you right there that the turbo S with AWD will pull about the same top end as a rwd car (bc in the dry it IS rwd).

And z06s are NOT more aerodynamic, the have the same drag coefficient as the turbo S (.34)

This is true; hence why I noted a massive price difference... I am here to talk value to performance ratio.

All true; except I don't know why you say that 100% power is going to the rear wheels when it is an AWD car? I think in even the most aggressive of setups in AWD, never do the front wheels cut off power. The Corvette's LS motor is very heavily underpowered from the factory and with an intake and exhaust can also run a 10.8@130 (a cost of 2K extra) ; I've personally seen it, it just takes a solid driver.

R U sure about that? Being fully RWD?

The fact remains that the car costs less than half and when you speak of top end; when does top end above 150 matter unless you are on closed off runways or straights that are miles long?

Yes Porsches do send 100% to the rears in dry conditions.

True but for the sake of comparison I was just showing the vettes run out of steam at autobahn speeds and the 911 despite awd has top end I dont think any other awd car with it's power will touch.

The z06 is no doubt a bargain but you could make an evo faster than them both for even less. But for a stock package, I don't think at the moment there is a better all around car than a turbo s.

Well that's very subjective because to me the M5 is a much better all around car... at least it has four door. Yes, the 911 is incredible but at what price?; the two competitors I've named cost half and have about 85% of the performance.

BTW; the GT2 RS is the most incredible Porsche... it has 620 HP and is RWD at all times; yet somehow has the grip of AWD.

To make an EVO faster than a Z06 wouldn't be cheap. Plus you can get a lightly used Z06 (5k miles) for high 40's-low 50's. With tire it's capable of high 10's bone stock with factory warranty. Just google "Ranger Z06".

My next car will either be a C63 or Z06.
