New 3er.
Popped along to a VIP showing at my local dealer with Kev (Zurich) tonight.
Thankfully a little pitstop for a beer meant we avoided almost all of the lady singing (apparently some Swiss Chart topper). The covers were pulled off a couple of demo cars. We were standing next to the 335i on 19s. Overall impression are it is certainly a good looking car - though not a great leap forward in design. Seemed a little like a junior 5er. Build quality and interior were fine. If it drives as well as the reviews are suggesting it will be a cracker. One nice touch on the 335i were the anthracite dark chrome exhaust tips. Also a very nice satin black M3 on winters in the car park. D.

Not a fan of that front end myself. Hopefully they do something drastically different for the M-Sport

I had a look around and sat inside a 320D Sport at my local dealer last weekend.
Disappointed by the interior design, the centre dashboard seems very over-styled. I thought the nav screen sticking out of the top seemed very cheap and surrounded by poor plastic - a real step backwards from the current hooded design IMHO. My 2.5 year old E90 certainly didn't seem outdated to me when I got back in it.

Well i've just come back from a trip out to my local dealership (Sytners Sutton Coldfield), after being invited via a posted invite.
I arrived there about 3 o'clock, walked through the main dealership doors, failed to be greeted or acknowledged by the two reception staff. They had a 328i Sport and a 320i Modern I think it was on display. Myself, girlfriend and in-laws walked around the two 3 series on display separately and over a 15minute period not a single member of staff bothered to acknowledge any of us... was this really a launch event? I was kind of expecting some sort hospitality? the dealership was by no means heaving... dead if anything. So after 15mins gave up and left by the same doors that id entered and still the 2 dreary reception staff gave no sign of any acknowledgement. Based on my previous experiences with the service department and warranty issues i'm not at all surprised by this unwelcoming experience. The car itself... nice not overwhelming but a evolution of the current E90. I drive a 330d for which there is currently no direct replacement. I wanted to find out off the dealership staff as to when or if there will be a replacement... but being as I wasn't acknowledged I really couldn't be bothered. To round off the whole experience I grabbed this photo of the immaculately presented showroom cars:- Impressive! F30 - 7/10 Sytners Sutton Coldfield - 0/10 |

Went into sytner city centre brum. had a good look round the f30. Really does look like e90 facelift. Drooping nose was awful. just hope the m sport improves things.
