'09 328i - "bulb of exterior lighting failure" indication

I am getting this indicator intermittently. It comes on sometimes when I turn ON my right blinker. Also, when the indicator comes on...I get a fast right blinker indicator...like when your blinker bulb is burned out. Then the indicator goes away and all works fine. Any ideas...? It is under warranty, so I will defintely let the dealer fix it, but just wondering if anybody has had this problem. I have had a lot of tail light, head light, brake light, now blinker light, issues with this car.

Have you checked to see if the blinker is out on the front or rear?

Read the CC ID code. Then google it or search for the exact bulb that is out.

yes...both blinkers are working. I expect if the bulb was out...the indicator would stay ON.

I don't think the code is gonna show up if the indicator is not ON...my indicator comes ON for a few secoonds, then goes and stays OFF.

But that is really cool about those codes...I didn't know about reading those on the car...figured you had to have a diagnostics reader. This will definitely come in handy once the warranty goes out.
