Engine light on then off

I was driving and my engine light suddenly came on and the car was very shaky, even when stoped at a light my car was shaking, then a minute later the engine light was off and the car was back to normal. Any idea what this could be? I thought maybe some bad fuel went in.

Thanks

Pepboys, advance, autozone will scan for codes for free. That'll most likely pinpoint a cylinder misfire, but then it could be a number of things- plug, coil, or injector. 2 are DIY but not the injector unless you are hard core.

So misfires on cyl 1 and cyl 4?

I assume you are not under warranty? How old are your spark plugs? You can swap coils 1 and 4 to cyls 2 and 6 then scan for codes again. If the misfires move along with the coils then there's your answer. If not then it may be bad injector(s). I recently had a bad injector replaced after swapping coils around and getting the same cylinder misfire code after scanning again.

BTW, depending on your build date, there is a recall on injectors:

The car is under warrenty still, the only problem is the nearest dealer is 800km from here. My car is a 2007 not sure if that helps with whether the injectors have been recalled on my car. If i had to change the coil where can I get one?

Thanks

I guess you didn't read the pdf. It tells you the build dates with the bad injectors. As far as coils, I would suggest you order from one of the board sponsors.
