Passenger door won't unlock Help!

My passenger side door just stopped unlocking. I have to manually pull the door handle from the inside to open it. The strange thing is, that the door will lock sometimes. Btw this just happened this morning. Is there a way to reset the locking mechanism? Any ideas?

Any ideas? I replaced the 56 and 57 fuse and still not fully working. I will lock but won't unlock.

Common problem. We ended up replacing the door lock mechanism. Our driver door lock failed, but we did both driver and passenger front door locks. If you do it yourself, there is a kit that has both front locks for a price below that of a single door lock.

I had the same problem on my old e46. The passenger door wouldn't unlock but it would still lock. Only way to unlock it was to pull the handle on the inside. It ended up being a bad actuator.

Here's link to a DIY if you want to try it yourself.

I was lazy so I just brought it to the shop and spent $400. If I was to do it all over again I'd definitely do it myself.

06 330i? yea you are due for an actuator, might as well do both sides.

you can DIY for less than 100 (ebay sells actuators). working inside the door is kind of cramped though. i think i paid 50 for mine.

I did the work myself, and the kit (for both front doors locks) cost me $80-$90 at my local BMW dealer. He quoted me $90-ish for one door lock, but then mentioned a kit that BMW has (apparently because this issue is very common). Yep, both door locks for the price of one!
