Got pulled over
I was driving in atlantic city and I merged on this 3 lane road and some state trooper comes out of nowhere and pulls me over. (I never got pulled over or got any tickets before) and she says I crossed over the solid lines when I merged onto the road and she gave me a ticket for "careless driving" is this complete BS or what??

Did you cross the white line?
I got a careless driving ticket as a teen in a camaro for fishtailing a bit on a rainy day. Its not a fake ticket, but Id suggest you take defensive driving and keep it off that clean record.

The white line is literally 6 feet long and everyone crosses over it when they merge on this road. Like truck drivers have to cross over it or else they cant make the turn its pretty sharp.
The state trooper just seemed like she was in bad mood to begin with. |

Works better for your ladies to flirt with male cops than us men flirting with a 170 pound + lady officer that looks like rolled out of bed laying next to Rosie Oddonel

Ohh believe me there was no flirting with this lady. She was a stone faced, by-the-book person. But it was a state trooper. If it was an atlantic city cop I would've gotten off the hook because I know a few cops.

You just gotta put your "beer goggles" on. The cops who pulled us over in NJ were not cute at all, but that didnt stop me from trying to compliment his awful tattoos, asking how his day was, ect...

Wow that's a real shame OP. Not really much you can do at this point besides attempt to fight the case or take your lumps.
Everytime I've gotten pulled over I've been let off with what I believe to be a combination of respect and formality. 'Yes,no,aye aye, sir/ma'am' Just keep it simple, in good taste, professional..and always act like you're completely ashamed of the entire situation. It's either that or my mil ID that works. |

Better to get a traffic lawyer and plea the ticket down to a non moving violation as that careless/wreckless driving charge will affect your insurance for the next 39 months.

Don't know how these things work in New Jersey but in Michigan I'd take it to court. If you have a clean record you can usually plead out, pay the fine and the court will waive the points.
