335is sport button question

Is it just me, or does the sport button make the exhaust louder? (open it up?)

I know the exhaust opens as the car heats up, and that the Sport button holds gears longer (even longer than when just in S mode) and it stiffens the suspension, but for some reason, when in Manual, I feel like the exhaust is louder when I push the sport button. Maybe I'm just hearing things...

maybe what you are hearing is the higher rpms?

I'm probably hearing things. Not higher rpms though, because i was shifting manually with paddleshifters.

The only thing the sport button does is speed up gear shifts and remap the throttle response. Since the exhaust flap on the 'is' opens up during hard throttle, the remapped throttle possibly makes the flap open more readily. (you should do the exhaust flap golf tee unplug mod, trivial and reversible mod and you get to have the sweet open exhaust sound all the time).

As for the suspension changes... thats not possible, the 335is doesn't have adjustable suspension like edc (which is only offered on m's)

Thanks for the info. Must be the fact that the exhaust flap is opening quicker.

Haha you gotta let me drive this car once we meet up. My 335is is 6MT so I have no sport button. I will be the judge!

No sport button for me either. With the 6MT your right foot IS the sport button.

But the exhaust gets noticeably louder and deeper higher up in the revs. Almost like a howl from the 5K point onwards. Gotta love the exhaust on the 335is.

Strange I know, but I feel a "slight" increase in firmness when I press the Sport button. Just crusing down a consistently bump road, there is a subtle difference when pressed.

Definitey love the is exhaust. Amazing stock. And I agree about the firmness. I always thought I heard that the suspension stiffened, but I guess that's not possible.

The shift points are raised & hit harder.....no suspension adjustment. I use the JB4 to hold the flap open all the time. Prior to the JB4 I opened the plug in the trunk. (golf tee mod MKII)

It's not just you. I have thought the same when I hit the sport button. I thought the dealer told me it opens the exhaust flap when in sport mode. I could have misunderstood but I have been using the sport mode more often lately and to me it sounds louder in sport mode driving the same. Either way top down and this exhaust is music to my hears!
