Smile 1 series or 3 series?

I'm going to get the first car in my life about few months later, but i'm still thinking which car should I get. I know you will have more fun with the 1 series, but it's kinda small for me (I'm a 6" guy) and I think is easy to drive, park for new driver. In the other hand, 3 series obviously have more option, especially the iDrive system, because I want to use it for the road trip after I get it. Anyway, I like both of them.

Is there any different between 1 series and 3 series? I mean the handling.....etc. I am thinking to get these car with year 09'-11'.

Thank you for answering

I have both of those cars, a e88 128i vert and a e90 335i... but for some reason i like the 1er more i get more complements with 1 than the 3... i guess most of it is because there are a lot of 3 series running around here[ a lot] and there is not to many 1's running around, so it seems to pop out a little more

as far as performance: they are close but i will have to give it to the 3 series, better handling performance all the way around. but acceleration and braking of the 1 is right there with its older brother

so its up to you on what you want, do you want to blend in with a [3] or stand out with a [1]

some tuff decisions on your part... but i know you will make the right [1]...

I am bigger than you and you will fit fine. The only thing is nobody can sit behind me comfortably.

First of all, thanks for answering me Even thought I like 135i but I can't buy it, only 128i is available for me lol..cause 300hp is too much for me, I don't want to crash it.

I am 6' and people usually prefer sitting behind me than the passenger seat .

My 3er was my first car and I absolutely love it. I think the 1 series is a bit small

The 1-series has exactly the same dimensions inside up to the b-column. From that pov - invalid argument . Oh btw: I'm 6'2" and have no problems in a 1-series or a 3-series (well, again, identical). And usually the 1-series has less weight to carry around with the same engine. In terms of options you'll find almost everything available in both cars. And at least over here, there is still a noticable price difference from 1 to 3-series. Don't get me wrong, I love the 3-series, but for me the 1 is the better choice.

No more 1-series. Just a '14 Focus Diesel Wagon company-daily. Oh and this one..

it is unclear what your rather average penis has to do with a car purchase, or why you would mention it on a car forum.

If you're comparing the 1 to the 3 E9X generation, both x28i?

I think the 1 with a manual is almost 200 lbs lighter than a 3. I would think it's a little quicker than the 3. The 1 wasn't here in the US when I bought my 3; think I would have leaned toward the 1 if it existed at the time.

If you tend towards practicality, the 3 sedan is a better choice. If you tend towards total driving experience and want a coupe, perhaps the 1 has an edge, but you will probably enjoy either.

For performance, the 1 has more potential. If you're worried about crashing and want to stay away from 300 horse, I would recommend the nicer/practical car. You might not take too many road trips in a 1 if people can't sit behind you.
