Aren't these people just targetting M models? I've not really considered getting anything security wise since I doubt anyone will go out of their way to steal a standard 3 series.

After watching this I think just moving the port should do the trick, I can't see them wanting to start pulling the dash apart as this will mean opening the door and triggering the alarm, unless the cars parked our the way where nobody is going to bother them.
Surely a well designed visible window decal indicating the OBD port has been moved or disabled is going to put most theifs off? Last edited by Bomber; 07-17-2012 at 02:36 AM.. |

I heard you re-routed the OBD cable and used it to power your electric drivers side mirror as it was not working
Doh its even more accessible hanging off the mirror now |

You cant disconnect easiest thing is buy a extention on ebayu and then move it. So plug the two together then hide hte join deep under the dash. THen put the output plug somehwere only you know.
Same about the sticker quick print out on a clear DYNO labler OBD PORT DISABLED is also on my glass. Confused the tech like mad the other day

Agreed - they're not going to bother their arses to nick a 3 year-old 320d. If I had an Exx M car I'd be worried.
