Cool Fits like a glove?

My e90 and I now fit like hand and glove. All the controls and functions are imprinted in my brain thus my hands land on the needed controls without effort or thought. It took about three months for me to get to this point, about 3000 miles or so. The only thing I'm still working on perfecting is heel/toe shifting.

Before this, I would pause with some confusion when I needed to turn on/off the car, lock/unlock doors, pop the trunk, etc...

Is your e90 a natural extension of you?

Danny

I have had mine for around 3 weeks now. Put 2100 miles on the car already and I just love driving this car. I dont think I could ever go back to a Honda now.

Yea, barring a catastrophic failure(s), I am a BMW customer for life.

At first, the turn signal was wierd for me too, but of course as I became used to it, I think it great and when I drive my wife's TSX or any other kind of car, it feels cheap compared to the E90!

Another thing that has become common for me is reverse, now when I drive other cars, I notice reverse is wayyy over there compared to German cars.

I agree about the indicator. I'm still trying to sell my old car (Volvo S70) so I drive it from time to time and the indicator feels huge and clunky the way it clicks over into place.

I made sure to get the hang of first/reverse since I had nightmare visions of slamming into the car behind me pulling away from a traffic light. It is a bit tricky though, I prefer Audi's system that requires you to push down to get it into reverse.

Another thing that took getting used to was having the central locking button in the middle of the dash.

Still, IMO having certain things be a bit quirky and require being a bit familiar with the car contributes to the overall "driver's car" experience.

the moment i took delivery of my e36 back in march 1992, i knew that bmw was for me. yep, we fit like a glove together my e90 and i and i still love getting in the car and driving it every time since taking delivery in july.

no problem with the indicators easy to use.

The car felt natural to me the second I got in.

I didn't have that "lost in a new car" feeling...it was strange. It's as if the car was built for me, everything is perfectly in reach...amazing:P

My car is an extension of me - and my no1 rule is RESPECT THE CAR. Kills me when poeple touch it or lean on it or those water-free car wash poeple in the parking garage want to wash it...(as if my car even looks dirty)
