2nd ticket in two weeks!!!!!

Man this bites the big one. You all might have seen my other thread where I got a "pacing" ticket and ever since then I have really been very carefull about my speed and trying to keep it to less than 10 over the limit. Today as i was leaving for work I get on the street to get to the highway and I overtake a truck and get back in the right lane. Right then I saw the cop and he tags me with a laser and writes me for 53 in 40.
I plead with the guy that I already got one and all he says is I'll write it for 50 in 40. In the end says "nice car and drive slow."

Am I in more trouble for getting two tickets so close since I just got my ticket 2 weeks ago? I have hired a lawyer who hasnt done jack about my first ticket which is p...ing me off more.

Man this car is becoming more expensive every day. I am thinking I should trade it in for a yugo or something.

I think I see your problem. The colour of your car attracts cops like a lightbulb to moths.

Next time get a more stealth colour.

They always say that red cars are more expensive to own due to insurance reasons...well I'm not sure if that's a myth or not, but it sure seems like your color is leading to unwanted expenses lol.

I always drive a solid 10mph faster on my way to work than on my way back, and I'm probably pretty lucky to not have gotten ticketed yet.

But uhh, find a good radio morning show and use cruise control and drive slowww

That sucks. What do you mean your lawyer hasn't done jack yet? Did they explain their process for handling a ticket? Over here the lawyer files for an extension to set the court date up for later (I guess so the cop forgets the case by then or for the cop not to be free to show up) rather than handling it right away, but they do take some sort of action to begin the process.

Red car all the way. My dad used to love getting red trucks for work and he'd get a ticket atleast every 3-6 months. Last 2 trucks he got were blue and black and he's only gotten 2 tickets in 6 years with those. He has gotten 1 ticket in his AW 330i. Me on the other hand I am ticketless with my last 2 rides, silver and SG*knocks on wood*. I have gotten 2 camera tickets but no points so who cares, both of them were the mobile cameras too so I wasn't the retard flying through the fixed cameras.

Im going to say it's 80% your car color and 20% you prolly drive like a dick. The car color just makes you an easy target.

You know when I decided on the color my brother in law even told me that I am going to be a sure target.

All I can say about my driving is that this has not been a good year. I got my license back in 1990 and got my first speeding ticket 2 years ago and now three in one year. All three related to this car!!!!!! (first ticket on way to ED, my fault as I was driving fast to get to the airport to not miss the flight which ended up being delayed anyway.)

About the lawyer... I think I got one that is really crappy. The secretary didnt really explain the process very well and I just blindly trusted them. I am going to go down to their office and demand my money back.

The red car thing is a myth. Snopes proved that your insurance is not higher. Also I bet one could make an argument that more than ever people who drive silver vehicles get pulled over more. The reasoning behidn this is due to the many silvers, greys and just lighter colors that many buy.

The only times I pass are when I look ahead and can see there is nowhere for a cop to be sitting.

update. Finally got the call from the lawyer and he says that he can make the deal with the prosecutor for both the tickets and keep it off my driving record. Let see what happens.

Dude...next time, instead of pulling out to get ahead of a slow truck (to save..what, 2-5 minutes??) just wait your turn. (will save you 15-20 minutes talking to a cop each time---and couple hours talking to your lawyer figuring out what to do next.)
