dusy rock chips on front windshield

whats up fellas. Lately, im getting these dust like rock chips on my front windshield. seems like my e90 front windshield is soft. I've had the car for 3 years and all of sudden im getting these annoying dust like chips all over. anyone else having the same problem with bmw front windshields?? ....is there anyway to fix this besides getting a new windshield ?

Are they spider webbing or pits? When I first got mine I noticed a few tiny pits from rocks. I went to safelight and they said it wouldn't really do much to fix cause they weren't spider webbing. They are still the same about 8 months later.

I haven't noticed any new ones lately. Are you traveling the highways often? Follow close to cars?

Welcome to my world. I've had the WS replaced once and now two separate dings repaired on the replacement. More than any other car i've owned.

It's because the windshield is on the soft side from what I've heard, and there's nothing you can do besides replace it with a new one.

its a pos... any little thing makes a tiny indent in the glass. cant replace unless it gets worse but they dont. it just like takes a small chunk out. its no big deal unless its in ur line of site like mine then it drives me insane but not insane enough to spend like $500 to replace the whole thing.

Yep, same here. I actually thought it was tree sap, but it's just soft/pitted glass. I had mine replaced in June. Time will tell how long this one holds up. Safelite charged me around $400 to replace.
