Angel Eyes

What are Angel Eyes and what do they offer that is different from the stock BMW headlights for the E92 Coupe?

I am a soon-to-be proud owner of my first bimmer.

all coupes have angel eyes (if i'm not mistaken)
they light up as accessory lights to the headlight to provide extra visibility to other cars. they're also useful for showing your car's position if a headlight is out.
they're pretty much just really cool parking lights.

(see my sig )

OK, cool, so then I take it I dont need to upgrade to Angel Eyes, although I see it being sold as an add-on accessory for your Bimmer.

Any reason why someone would want to replace their original angel eyes with other angel eyes? Brighter color? Different color?

Thanks for your reply. Nice sig.

In some cases, brighter, but most of the time to get rid of the ugly amber color and goto LED white colors. This does not mean changing the rings out, but changing the light source that illuminates them

Is it easy to change without removing parts? If removing parts is necessary, can it be done without having to own an auto body shop or a garage?

Are you required to remove anything more than a bumper to change your headlights to a cool looking White or Blue-ish white color?

usually you just have to turn the wheel (or jack the car up) and remove a couple screws to get the wheel well cover off. then replace the halogen angel eye bulb with an LED one.
takes about an hour (at least on the sedan)

If it is a pre-LCI. To change the angels on a coupe or LCI sedan, it is all accessed through the hood except for foglights

I will have the 2009 335i-X Drive Coupe. Does anyone know if I would be going through the hood or underneath the wheel cover to change the lights?

Since you have Xenon headlights - what are the differences between Xenon versus HID Headlights, versus other types of headlights that are offered?

There are only two factory options for an 09 LCI. Halogen or Xenon HID. Think of xenon and HID as the same thing. Halogen is the only other option and that is like most other cars.
