New 335i Coupe Owner looking for Info on Car

Hey guys, I just picked up an 07 335i Coupe from Glen Cove, NY and was wondering if anyone could help me find some info on the previous owner and what mods have been done.

What I know about the car:
2007 335i
Montego Blue
M6 Staggered Wheels
Front lip
Rear Lip
Chipped
Slammed (no space between the tire and fenders)

The car has an exhaust but from underneath it looks like it has welded in cherry bombs.

I'd love to learn more about the other mods done and the exhaust it has. The car has a nasty vibration between 2000-2400 RPM.

The front lip also looks like it was installed to cover up the damaged front bumper from hitting driveways.

If this car looks familiar to you, let me know any information you have.

Thanks guys,
Anthony

Congrats! Those rims seem to be 313 style reps and not M6 wheels. Most likely tue car had a tune such as a jb3/4 or other similar. Check the ECU usong the diy on websites where they sell these type of tunes. I do not know the previous owner. Also check maintenance records on it since it is a 2007 and sparks should be changed at 45 on non modded cars and at 20k when modded.

You got a great color and engine (N54). GL w the car and post proper pics soon!

I don't know much about the tune but when I hold the top left and top right buttons on the steering wheel while the car is on, I can select a performance level. The tach goes to 1 and I can use the up and down arrows on my steeringwheel to select 1-5. The problem is when I do this, I have no use of the tach or speedometer while driving.

I'm going to take the car to a BMW dealer and inquire about the "turbo warranty" just to have them take a deeper look into the car to see if everything looks copacetic. Even if it is just for them to tell me the car has a voided warranty because it's chipped.

After some research I have discovered the car must have the JB4. I guess I'll have to just keep playing with the car to find out as much as possible.

To enable the JB4, you hold down the "bottom" buttons for volume down and track down to enter command mode.....Out of curiosity, is this a CPO? Did the dealership disclose the fact the car came with a tune?

^Get into the ECU box and see what tune you have.

If it was a BMW dealership you could try to get some sort of extended warranty for them if they did not disclosed it and it worries you. If its not a bmw dealership, don't bring it up to BMW if you are still under warranty.

Personally, I don't think a tune alone will have an adverse effect on the car, but that's me. Def will have an effect on the performance you are experiencing right now...

The car was a gamble. I have a 2010 maxima sv sport on lease right now and was looking for a toy. I confirmed it is the JB4 and the car turned into a completely different animal when I put it into Map 2.

No warranty on the car except a 60 day "warranty" from the non-BMW dealer and 3 years regular maintenance.

Map 2 should be run with intakes and downpipes. Grab the USB cable hook up your laptop and see what firmware you have on the JB4. Map 2 is set @ 14.5psi. Latest firmware allows you to run a bit more then 14.5psi on Map 5 (autotune map) with intakes and 93 (assuming thats what your running since your in NY).

Update to the latest firmware, Map 5, fill tank with a 70/30 93/e85 mix (try the 70/30 mix first see how your car feels, if all is good you can bring raise the e85 mix). You'll love e85.

The car does not look like it has a custom intake but it does have a downpipe. Looks like an aftermarket intercooler but I can't really tell.

I know for a fact the dealer filled up the car with 87 so once I use half a tank I will fill up with 91 and some additive.

That was some good information you gave me!

Stupid dealer, the damn car tells you on the gas cap to use only 91 or higher.
