Smile Just picked up my 325xi!

Hi all! I just picked up my 325xi last night and I couldn't be happier with it! To make a long story, my 2000 Acura TL was totalled a few weeks ago and, after considering several other cars, including the Infiniti G35, Lexus IS 250, Audi A3 and A4, and Mercedes C240, I went with the E90... and driving the car home last night, I knew I had made the right decision! I'm also really happy with the way the paint and trim combination (arctic metallic, black leather, aluminum trim) came out.

Ordered: 9/12
Produced: 10/18
Departed: 10/24
Arrived: 11/4
Delivered: 11/14

Options: metallic paint, leather, steptronic
MSRP as equipped: 36,695
Price paid: 34,650

I will truley miss my last Xi. this time i thought that i wanted to pure race car feel with rear wheel drive. but the Xi was almost idiot proof. i used to push it around bends and all the AWD does is drift. i am much more timid to slide my tires sideways around turns in the 2WD.

You will learn to love the snow, whereas i am about to purchase snow tires because the sports package comes equiped with Summer tires

Thanks much!

As for the deal I got, a friend of mine introduced me to the saleswoman who sold him his X3 a couple years ago and I explained to her that since I would be paying for a rental car out of pocket (my last car having been totalled in an accident) until I got a new car, I'd really need a good deal if I was going to have to wait several weeks for a new car to arrive (I mentioned that I was also considering 2005 Infinitis and Lexus's.) I suggested 34,500, she offered 34,900 and we ended up at 34,650.

I was also pleased to find that when I took delivery last night, there weren't any BS additional charges from the dealer -- The out-the-door price we agreed on was exactly what I paid. And they even threw in floor mats, key chains, and hats!

The only minor gripe I have is that I was originally told that it would take 4-6 weeks for delivery and it ended up taking about nine, but overall, I had a great buying experience at my dealer (VOB BMW in Rockville, MD).

Pix

Here are some pix as promised, although the parking lot I was in was drenched with sunlight when I took them so they don't really show off the color very well.

At any rate, I'm really happy with the color combination -- Arctic, black leather, and aluminum trim. For the exterior, I really liked silver and graphite too, but my last car was silver and the graphite was just a little too dark for my liking -- I thought the lighter colors showed off the lines of the E90 better; and I thought arctic was a very distinctive, unique looking color. For the interior, I originally decided on grey leather, but changed it to black because I liked the sharper contrast with the exterior paint and the aluminum trim (which I'm glad I ordered before the shortage!) -- the grey just seemed to blend in too much, especially with the aluminum.

Anyways, I've got 250 miles on my E90 so far and I'm lovin' it!

Thanks again!
