Pissed...
unbelievable...so i find out that i have a dent on the roof of my car. not too big but about the length of an average person's pinky. Luckily, BMW decides to fiz it for me free of charge saying that it probably occurred during shipping. So on my way to have it dropped off and fixed, some idiot truck driver decides to not cover his load (which is gravel btw) and one of the rocks bounces out of the truck and hits and cracks my windshield. I don't know, i guess i'm just looking for some sympathy...this sucks. OH and the best part, the windshield is going to cost $990 to fix. but at least i have a $500 deductible with my insurance. So for the next 5-6 days, i'm stuck with a a hyundai sonata. At least it's an 07'

Here in Vegas, all of the dump-trucks (and there's ALOT of them) have signs in the back of them that say,"Not Responsible for damages to other vehicles."
I usually am able to read this message as the dump-trucks are passing me on the freeway doing 85mph (and spewing rocks everywhere).... |

I had this happen with a brand new t-bird about 10 years ago. I always carry a camera for my business, so i quickly shot a pic of the truck with a full load uncovered. I sued and won. They paid for the damages and 2 days of work time. It broke the windshield and dented the front hood in 3 bad spots.

Dude that sucks! I got a good size rock during my European Delivery. That alone ensured my choice to do the full hood clear-bra. You might want to look into it.

It may seem bad. But what about me?
My windshield has a crack, get it fixed and now I have a problem with Ac unit due to shorting out. And the guys who fixed my windshield are saying it wasnt them since they dont have to take off this certain part. Even though the owner wasnt at my house that day. Try and top that haha. Still no cold air with 90 degree days in Mass and need to deal with insurance.

Check your insurance policy and make sure you don't have a seperate glass deductible. Many policies have this and it is usually less than the regular deductible. My deductible is $500, but my glass deductible is only $250, so check just to make sure.

Have you called your insurance company reguarding the cost? I thought that I would have to pay the full insurance deductible when my windshield was cracked but it was only $100 for my windshield.

The state of FL requires that you not be charged a deductible for windshield replacement from any cause if you have "Comprehensive" (which most people do as it's required on leases and by most purchase lenders). They don't want people driving with broken windshields.
