Why Does My Car Drink So much Diesel, hmmm???
[FONT="Times New Roman"]
Quite strange my car was really, thirsty when i first got her, but now shes done around 6000 miles and the consumption has very slightly improved, my average Mpg, is around 19 - 23 (motorways rarely, but even their it drinks) i could understand if i had a heavy foot but when i try to conserve it still seems to just vanish, is that common or just me,, its a Saloon, very rarely us AC, changed the Run Flats for a Set of Smoke Chrome "19" M5 wheels, which have been curbed to hell by my Old Man... but the thing is even though it costs me an arm and a leg, i love it |

Do you have it set for Imperial or US gallons? This alone would increase your fuel economy by 25% for comparison to other UK drivers.

calculate it yourself.. i find the computer is out. I get 35mpg so far average according to trip computer. Mine is an auto and I do mixed driving with mostly M-way but some hard driving too.
I get around 430miles from a tank of fuel.. but I reckon I can do better if I didn't enjoy driving it and accelerating :-) |

Better yet, use L/100km. No ambiguity there. Do you get to choose which unit to use in Euro spec-ed cars? I know in Canada, at least for the MY2006 version, you can only get the UK gallon and not the US gallon since we are in a metric country.
