What is the difference between TI and TI+?

So I used to have a 335i coupe which was built in 08/2006 or 09/2006. I had the iDriver previous to this v25.

In the 335i e92, the iDrive "taskbar" displayed "TI+"
In the 550i e60, the iDrive "taskbar" displays only "TI"

Personally, I feel that "TI" has been completely useless. In my 335i with "TI+", the car was better informed of traffic in NYC and actually helped me get places faster and more sanely. The 550i "TI" can't even keep up with my iPhone/maps.google.com/traffic and is pretty much a useless POS.

Is there something going on here? How can I get "TI+" in a 550i with the v25 iDrive software.

BTW, this is a question I believe is relevant to e90/e91/e92/e93 and e60 owners equally and the fact that I like e90post better than e60 forums, this is why I've posted this question here.

It's my understanding that, since v25, the display just says "TI" instead of "TI+" but there is no difference in the actual information.

Disclaimer - My car is an 06, so I don't have traffic info. I'm just basing this on the iDrive update threads.

I have v25 and haven't seen TI+ on my display. It's always TI works fine in SF.

Same service with and without the +. Pretty funny that you liked the service when it said + though.

Prior to my upgrade to v25 I had TI+, now I'm just getting TI. Didn't notice any difference other than the plus sign.

I think the 550i sucks then and the 335i had a better RTTI or something. I'm not kidding and I'm sure that my 335i was better, w/ or w/o '+'
