there are a few threads about this already. but i just thought of something! EVERYONE should ask their dealer when they go in!! one person said they asked their dealer and the dealer said if they sign a waiver they can turn it off. i dont believe it. my dealer had no idea about that. but if we keep asking maybe 1. eventually a dealer somewhere will be able to or 2. word will get back to bmw that its ridiculous

Seatbelt Warning Buzzer
Just received a reply from my delaer. He received a special deactivation number from the factory. However, bad news is that the E90 must stay one working day, as they need to rest all the electronics, computer codes from ground-up - its like a PC hard drive "format" he said. The E90 has weight sensors int he seats and the warning will sound if people/objects are placed there. Don't disconnect the plastic plug under the seat though.

If you are not belted, even a smaller collision will activate the full blast from the airbag thus preventing you from crashing head first into the windshield. So it´s better to live with the chime and at least leave the safety features intact. OR just buckle the hell up ! It really is not so bloody difficult to get used to. Get in, press the clutch, push the button, pull the belt, of you go. Less than 5 seconds.

i agree with everyone else. use your seatbelt. that's what it's there for.
if you're too dumb to use it, you don't deserve to be driving such a nice car. |

Thats an asshole thing to say, if you read the first post he asked because of going through a "drive-thru or a gargage" and said nothing about not wanting to hear it all the time, then you go and make a comment about being dumd and not deserving such a nice car... BMW owners get the rep of all being stuck up assholes because of comments like that. Anyone that can afford the car deserves to buy it and drive it. who are you to tell someone they should have a BMW because they dont want to wear a seat belt sometimes...like I said, asshole thing to say. |

That ding sure is annoying. Almost as annoying as flying through your windshield in an accident, with a mouthful of steering wheel.

you guys are ridiculous. 1. there is a thread just like this, and you guys are making this one turn into a mirror image of it. 2. if you think you are cute, or "helping" by saying "wear your seatbelt" you arent. people will either A. wear their seatbelt. or B. not wear it, regardless of what you say, or how you say it. and 3. i will repeat what i said in the last identical thread. if YOU need the most annoying sound in the world to deafen your eyedrums EVERYTIME you get into your car, so that you remember to put on your seatbelt. then YOU are the idiot. not the other way around.
