Question chimes when car starts?

kind of a superficial question...but I am about to get a new 328i sedan (July production)..

I've heard the chimes on the new 335i hardtop convertible..kind of a low-toned chime.

Is this the same for mine?

Thanks.

You get the chimes if you start the car w/o putting on the seatbelt first. At least that's what I noticed on my car.

I think he means the chimes with the Navigation system. I don't have the system so mine doesn't do that.

I wish there were a way to flash my ECU to customize my chimes. Maybe play some Sammy Haggar "I can't drive 55" when getting in, and "Stairway to Heaven" when someone's seatbelt isn't on.

From what i have observed from a recent loaner from my dealership, the chimes for non-iDrive cars have changed (probably after March 07, just a guess)

If your car is produced in July, it should have the 'new' chime.

Mine is a May build and still has that same annoying ding. Maybe they'll offer a reflash...

The difference is subtle. And it may probably be hardware based. ie. different speaker.
