325 to 335 trade

i have an 06 325i with 30k miles on it. i have 16 payments of 360$ left with a buy out of 21k. i just priced a 335i with 5k down 2yr/12k mi at 425$ (or something close to that) im looking on auto trader and my car with 29k miles on it is going for 30k... im thinking i may break somewhat even if i sell my car and satisfy the lease then lease the 335i. ides this make sense to anyone else? or am i missing something. my father is also going to purchase a new 535 so i may have some sort of leverage when purshasing as well. can anyone advise me if this sounds about right or is something wrong here.

Don't try and convince yourself that such a move makes financial sense - it doesn't, and you WILL take a bath. If you want the 335 then go for it. Otherwise, just continue to enjoy your 325 for what it is - a damn fine automoblie. :_

Wait...2yr/12k miles? Is that 12k a year, or 12k over 2 years? I'm serious...

12k/yr for 2 yrs = 24k mi total for the 335i. right now i have 12k/yr for 38mo and im at 30k mi since feb 06 so i have like 16 paymets left. im willing to lose a few dollars for the switch and pay more for the lease, but if its not worth it, its not worth it ya know?

im fine with my 325i. i just got it bone dry because i wanst sure how id like it, being my first bmw and all. i absolutely love it and will never buy another car besides BMW... ive decided i would like to have idrive and NEED a stick now that i see how fun the car is. i like the CA feature and 300hp with the proceed adition wouldnt hurt either

i aproached the mile limit on my lease wayyyyyyy too fast due to a new job further away so im not sure if BMW would prefer an early trade for a better car and a new lease or have me double the allowed milage and thurn their heads to any fees when i return it and jump in my 335i a year from now... or if i have to just buy it and sepp privatly. the market for these cars is so good right now id almost prefer to find a buyer now and satisfy the lease. its my first lease as well so im not to firmiliar with the outcomes of the above said.

Oh, well I honestly can't help you when it comes to leases, I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't 6k miles a year lol. I don't have any experience to help unfortunately...

As Gripster said...don't get too excited...
325, if it is not pretty much loaded (and I see a lack of ZSP at least, NAV?) with 30k miles will not go for $30k...

my car is difintaly eye candy, 8000k hids and fogs, piaa halos, tint, tvs in the headrests, ps2, m6 replicas, tinted tails, waxed and polished weekly. not many people in my area have a car like this one so im almost positive i can sell it for 30k

Your mods will not add value to the car, if anything it brings the cars value down.

i totally understand that, but as d3lon mentioned its much easier to sell to someone who will apreciate the work put into it. i sold a honda accord for 13k with 115k miles on it because of a custom trunk, lighting, tv's ect..

They are for sale, not selling at that price.
And most of those in the 31-33k range are for sale by dealers...
It is better to sell your mods separately for a few thousand (or whatever), and sell the car in the upper 20's...

i would break down the whole calculation between breaking the lease / buying out the car then resell it/ or get someone to take over the lease, look the the difference and compare it with the urge of how much you want to get a 335.

For me, i would just break the lease, get a brand new 335, if idrive and everything is all you want. since i hate all the hassle that you will have to sell the car privately, letting strangers test drive the car... let the dealer do all the work, let them make some $ to change their dirty underwear.

I can tell you right now the stealershit is going to bend you over and go town on you. Go ahead and see what they say for peace of mind, but you should expect yourself to say f#ck this after they are done yapping.
