Back from ED ...
Absolutely Amazing!!! I picked up my 335i on July 17 and had a blast. Braking the car in through the Alps was just as amusing as rocketing at 150+mph down the Autobahn. BMW's precise steering and great handling are extremely appreciated on narrow Alpen Roads and uneven yet fast Autobahn curves. A road trip through Europe is fantastic as is but the 335i made it unforgettable. I posted two short movies on youtube, one is about driving through the Alps and another on Autobahn.
I did not drive a 335i before I picked up mine in Munich and I must say that I am overly satisfied with the car. During the trip I had no problems and received only one speeding ticked in France. 90 Euro for going 100mph (Very lucky as my speed varied between 90 and 140). I would strongly recommend ED to anyone thinking about purchasing a new BMW. Greetings to all. |

My next car will be ED! These cars are meant to be driven and that is not always feasible here. I love your car. Congratulations!

Very nice. I did an ED in May and it's so depressing to think it'll probably be another 3-4 years before I do another. Best trip ever. And the great thing about doing EDs over and over again is that it's never the same trip twice.

Sounds like you had a blast! Like that Alps video, reminds me of the Transporter.
Can you just pay the ticket in France, don't tell me you have to go back to court. Our weak US$ is keeping me in the good ol' USA. My coworker told me, "It's only money," but still. I cringe when my EZPass gets read on the Verrazano, I'm not gonna want to pay that for a latte! |

Best of luck with your new ride! We did PCD with my E92 and now my wife wants to do ED with our next BMW, whenever that will be....I hope she doesn't twist my arm too much.

...wouldn't it be great if the highway rules for passing applied here? It brings tears to my eyes when I see a guy driving 150+ mph in the fast lane and the slower car ahead moves over. That's how it should be. Driving nirvana! Great videos. Thanks again for posting.

The funniest part was on the train back to Munich Airport, I asked a guy at the station..do you speak english?...he's like... "but of course". Especially in tourist areas, most if not all speak it enough to carry on a basic conversation. I also found the people in Germany and Austria were quite helpful and friendly.

The Italians Alps are such a great part of the planet. Nice when there's so little traffic!

Bobbo, arranging was not as hard as i thought, considering the peak season in end of July. We mostly stayed at Bed and Breakfasts. And since I speak german fluently i did not have problems with that. Nontheless, most germans speak a little english since that is the language they learn in school.
If you would like another tip, take a look at the rooms before you decide to book. |
