That was almost as bad as when Mos Def went on Bill Maher. Lmao
"Well he likes basketball; I like basketball! I don't see what the big deal is!" It's terrifying to think that nobody in the US knows more about Kim Jong Un than Dennis Rodman. Last edited by PINeely; 03-08-2013 at 02:57 PM.. |

I doubt it. Dating back to the Roman Empire nobody has been able to conquer Afghanistan.
For us, war with the Middle East can never be won due to two differing religious ideologies. You can't beat someone willing to live in absolute destitute conditions and die for their cause when the time is right. N. Korea is a very different issue. All we need to do to beat them is let their citizens see what the real world is like. Besides, when I was there 20 years ago, we had defectors who confirmed that while they had a 2 million man army, they had no way to finance the training. Moreover, S. Korea has a solid defense system to keep the N. Korean ground forces north of the Imjin river. |

Shit's getting serious here and i'm stationed here at Kunsan AB, S. Korea... I'm supposed to leave next month as I PCS back to the states after my year long tour but if N. Korea keeps it up, I wont be able to leave for a long while.
If you ask me, they've been doing this every since I've been here since last April and have been doing it for years before I got here. I don't think they will risk themselves of being wiped off the map... |

NK is not (no longer) a signatory under the NPT... and hence, the are legally allowed to participate in any and all nuclear ambitions be it clean energy or weapons.
NK is a 'puppet' for China just as how SK is a 'puppet' for US |

One thing to keep on mind is that the US is paying SK for political influence and on the other hand, China is funding NK them same. |

china has nk as a hedge, but at this point the chinese are getting richer (mainly off america) every year and it would be stupid to actually fight for nk. though the threat of war forces america to keep military expenses up (and borrow more from china). so china will politically hedge themselves (like america does with taiwan and sk), but if shit goes down expect them to drop nk like old shoes. not to mention that as many factions as there are among china (including ethnic chinese), nearly all chinese historically despise japan, and koreans are much closer to the japanese than the chinese. the indigenous taiwanese favor japan, but it's moot as china can squash them in a week if they wanted to (plus the kmt run things in taiwan now and the former taiwanese progressive president is a convicted criminal). japan is nk's best bet, and as i've stated earlier, they're capped out. seen any japanese tourists lately? if nk really wants to strike, the clock is working against them because china's building up every year (already has plans to build 5 aircraft carriers). also, china's growing much faster than india: if they were about equal in gdp and population 5-10 yrs ago, it's gone now. so where's america in all this? we need to learn from the europeans and hope they hold things together. because really, china doesn't like america either (unit 731: america swept it under the rug and helped the japs). but both the chinese and americans love europe (did you know: in china they're taught british english, not american english). and not all chinese are communists, there was a huge ethnic chinese diaspora with ww2 and mao. basically, it's all talk. the real war is on the financial front.
