GTR Survey for USC
Speed, handling, high performance. The GTR might very well be one of the best high-performance cars on the market, but for everything Nissan tries to do with it, its sales are extremely low.
I'm on a team doing a market research project for USC. We are testing various hypotheses regarding how Nissan can improve sales of the GTR. I would really appreciate if you guys could take this survey and share your input! Whatever thoughts you have on the GTR, this short survey is the place to share. I will share our hypotheses and data results when this is completed, in about a week or so. Again, please please take the short survey, and feel free to leave a comment about your opinions or your own thoughts on the topic! Thanks guys!!! https://usccollege.qualtrics.com/SE/...0ObgwwGs3KH8jP |

sorry, my numbers will drown you down. I don't like pretty much everything about the GTR. My grandma can drive that car around the track. You can't turn off all the nanies. It doesn't come with a manual. It's huge! they make a new model/adjustments every year. They can't run hard for extended period of time.

Also the car is $40,000 more then when it originally came out. I was semi interested when it was high 60's but now that its over a $100,000 not even a consideration.

Completed the survey. FYI, things that turn me off about the GT-R:
- Too much $$$ (it's a Nissan) - It's an ugly looking car - I've had the chance of driving one; it is a beast but not very fun to drive. |

Just completed the survey. In my opinion, even though GTR breaks all speed records tuned/stock and they are formidable on the track, there is something missing ..je ne sais quoi.. i can't say what but it there is something missing.
Interior is just plain awful. bland and i reckon there will be more like me that want to be blown away for spending 100k. Hard to argue for bang for the buck with GTR but and there is a but |

I think you are missing a lot of the key issues here:
1) It's too expensive for the Nissan brand. I could buy a car like that but I'm not going to buy a Nissan. The brand experience and the dealer experience at Nissan are poor. The car should be an Infiniti. 2) The Nissan dealers are not very friendly to people who want to test drive the car. It's easier to test drive a 911 Turbo than a Nissan GTR. Nissan dealers prefer to sell without test drive. If you limit trial, you limit consideration and sales. 3) The ride quality is very poor for the street. The car has adaptive suspension but they should expand the dynamic range for street use while maintaining a track setting similar to the current ride. 4) The interior styling looks cheap in terms of design, materials and finishes. BTW all 3 of your interior choices look shit. Have a look at an M6 with Opal White-Black interior with Piano Black wood and contrast stitching. That's quality. 5) the front end isn't great.

not sure why GTR isnt selling in America
In China its a big thing and lots ppl prefer it over porsche 911/M6 etc. personally i like the look of GTR, i think it well represented the designer's original idea, which is make it to look like gundam but then here is what i dont like...pretty much same as what stealth.pilot said above, the comfort level of driving it on streets, and the interior. I think the way for Nissan to go is to offer a luxury version of GTR with fine interior details, the current version is too sporty and feels too cheap inside. |
