9. The car features a fiberglass body.

7. In 2003, BMW released a limited number of 1:18 scale diecast models.

Each model of the featured Art Cars was initially released at an MSRP of $125, but today the miniatures are extremely rare and can only be obtained through auctions.

6. The car was on display at the inaugural Paris Photo L.A.

In celebration of BMW and Paris Photo's 10th anniversary of partnership, the M1 was on display at Paramount Pictures Studios from April 26-28. It will stay in the United States for more appearances that will be announced soon.

5. The colors and design represent high speeds.

Warhol described his vision saying, "I tried to portray a sense of speed. When a car is going really fast, all the lines and colors become a blur."

Trying to guess about this cars value has gotten me thinking. What is the highest price paid for a BMW at auction. I know a 507 owned by
Ursula Andress went for a little over $1 Million.

I truly respect the vision of "speed" as the concept. But the execution on (almost) all the art cars just failed to deliver.

Awful and overrated piece of "art". AW's intention was to express a sense of speed, and he miserably failed. It took him 23 minutes to complete this "masterpiece" using a thick brush. I've seen this car in person and it looks hideous.

Abstract art is the biggest scam ever.

Warhol was an interesting dude. Where I live, we have an entire art-car parade. None of which implies speed however...
