Kinda SUCKS!!!
I finally had the perfect opportunity the other morning to FINALLY see what my 328i was capable of. Got on the Autobahn very early the other morning and there was absolutely zero traffic on it...except an E46 330ci. I decided to keep on his tail for about 9 or 10 miles. No wind, about 50 degrees and dry weather conditions, no moisture of any kind.
I got my 328i up to 140mph, then the governor kicked in, my car did her "governor lunge" to 142mph...and that was it! I have heard if I added the sport package upon purchase, they "up" the governor to 155mph...well, the E46 330ci did creep away from me after I hit my 140mph "deadline". Just a shame, that's all...especially when you know you are in a car that CAN go faster. My RPM was sitting real pretty at 5600rpm. This car never ceases to amaze me. You just know she could maintain for a long time at that speed. Now I know why cops hate these cars back home...nimble, amazingly quick and has ENDURANCE!:rocks: |

I wonder. If there anything you can do about the governor? Pay a BMW dealership something to raise it to 155?

So they can get sued for millions? No. Better of taking it to a garage.
