What BMW could learn from Cadillac...
The '08 CTS is quite intriguing. You get $1300 off when you choose a 6-man, and you get a limited-slip differential when you go for 18" summer tires 9on the direct injection model). Those are two things I think BMW should offer on the 335 and/or 328.
Most people are getting steptronics, so include it in the base price of say 40,800 with the coupe. Deduct when a manual gets ordered. We're in the USA, not Europe, steptronic should be standard. And thank goodness the list price does not reflect the inherent weakness of our dollar! |

Deduct for a manual, or add for an auto. Isn't it 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other?
Limited-slip on the other hand, I agree.

I am a very "value-conscious" buyer. EuroDelivery savings, and ZSP is usually the only option I'm willing to pay for.
That said, the two options I would gladly borrow from my kids' college funds for are (1) LSD, and (2) ZHP/M-sport package. 2k for the LSD, and 3-5k for the ZHP, depending on what is included. At those prices they would be highly profitable.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone else agree that the new CTS is the best looking GM car in years? That's like being the smartest member of the Bush Administration, but still...

I don't think they can provide a lsd....It's for M3, to keep exclusivity. And to add that, it doesn't even need one. Anyway, the CTS shouldn't even be compared to 335i sedan....the 335i is so much more

Saw a CTS today on the interstate. It looks 100 times better than the photos up close and (IMO) it looks bloody good in the photos.

The only thing I like about the new CTS is that Kate Walsh is in the new commercial. She's SO FUCKING HAWT! That smirk/smile with the raised eyebrow, WOW.

Yeah, I know, a value-conscious 335 owner, seems like an oxymoron. But seriously, if I could just resist the mods then the cost per mile or year is really close to a Honda or Toyota. Free maintenance, and very high resale given the low initial ED price.

Haha, well. I dont see the difference between adding for a step and subtracting for a manual, but I can see where you're coming up. Only putting LSD in the M cars to make it "exclusive" has got to be the stupidest load of croc I've ever heard. Any "performance" oriented car has one. The civic si has one. Your car isnt exclusive because it has an LSD, your car is special ed because it doesnt have one.
