Muffler delete for a 325i
I have a 2006 325i and was wondering what kind of exhaust options there are out there? I am strongly considering the muffler delete, but to get a nice, deep, throaty noise out of my exhaust would the muffler delete do it or would I have to add a resonator delete? Exactly how loud is it? I had a old carbed v8 that I y'd the headers then dumped the exhaust, and it was nice and loud but too loud for a daily driver. Is this going to be as loud as that or will I still be able to have a normal conversation in the front seat with the windows up without screaming?
Are there any other options for exhaust that will be decently loud and not cost an arm and a leg? I looked at the dinan and it cost an arm, a leg, and your firstborn. I had a SVT focus before this so for the cost of the dinan catback, I could have had the complete exhaust, header and all, and a couple hundred left over. Any help or insight would be nice! Thanks! |

There are so many threads out there comparing different exhausts for our N52s. Do a quick search and you should be able to find dozens.
To answer your question, a muffler and resonator delete will provide you with the loudest results. Not necessarily the best results, but the loudest.

Thank you for the answer with the video. Are you able to carry a conversation on in the front seat at normal volume levels even with the drone? For reference, my SVT had a Brola Catback and a high flow cat and it had a definite tone but wasn't loud enough for me

Yes definitely can hold a convo. If there is music playing or the windows are down it isn't as noticeable either.

Muffler delete sounds good but just saying "I have a muffler delete" doesn't sound right to me, no offense to anyone.

+1 you bought yourself a decent car. Don't cheap out on the mods if you don't have to.
