Britalman installed, loss of power... what could it be???
i just finished installing my Britalman intake, followed the instructions step by step....
brought the car on the first test run, and wow, its so much slower.... the car accelerates in stages.... then when you hit second, there is a huge dead spot.... so the car shifts into second gear, while accelerating hard, and the car feels like it lost traction, and it cut the power, then feels like it regained traction and all the power is applied to the wheels..... its very weird... anyone have an idea of what it could be??? |

Are you sure thats not actually what's happening? DTC off might be the solution

Exhaust leak? A before and after dyno would be much more accurate than the butt dyno.

montrealbimmer, try this:
first make sure everything is connected properly in the engine bay, then disconnect the battery terminals in the back of the trunk, let it sit there for a bit, and then reconnect, go back out there and do another test drive, this allows the MAF to start out fresh, it fixed my slight laggy response on my previous gruppe m rep intake, see if it helps a bit

very possible it's the intake.
britalman intake is the same design as fujita (they probably get them from fujita and relabel them). if you read up on fujita, you'll see all the disappointing responses. imho, it's a bad intake design.

I found that I put everything together fine, but i forgot to tighten down the actual filter! The little extra air that was coming in through the opening was affecting the MAF. Check all of your connections once again.

It sounds like a flow vs. metering problem. Definitely double check all connections to ensure no leakage. Also, this may sound silly but was there anything maybe trapped in the intake or filter such as packaging for the intake?

Did you spray the filter with oil? Sometimes an excessive amount can mess up your mass flow air sensor.
