Apparently there are 3 MPPK Kits (M Performance Power Kit) now...

Just received word back from BMW for the MPPK:

For cars built up to 11/2012 you need to use PN 2294611

For cars built from 11/2012 until before 07/2013 you need to use PN 2334336

Both these kits output 320ish hp and 332lbs of tq.

For all cars built in 07/2013 onward need to use the new power kit PN 2353337 (which produces 335 hp).

Apparently you CANNOT use the new MPPK for for the older models due to a new DME (which I need anyways as mybuild was Sept 2012) + a few "other hardware changes) which no one will ellaborate on.

I may just pass on this... as I ordered it in May and now getting the crappy kit anyway. Geezzzz this is so frustrating...

You have a 2014 like me. You will need the 3rd one on the list.

I would wait for the dinan or do jb4. My mppk is one of the old ones and it is faster but not omg fast.

The build date info in the OP tells you which one you need.

i already have my car, it came with the ppk from factory. what i was asking is how do i confirm which one they installed, not which i need. since its an aug build and the change happened in aug between the 2 ppk's i wanted to see if there is a way to confirm which ppk got installed in my car. hope my question is now clear.

Ohhhh, okay. I misinterpreted what you were asking. I think the dealer should be able to tell you. There are a few guys here who can run it for you too, but unfortunately I can't remember their usernames at the moment.

It's a controversial method to use since there is a camp that believes the sport displays are fictional (I believe its a fair point). However the theory goes the old PPK had displays that showed 320/400. The new PPK should show 400/400 and as you drive your peak HP and TQ should get to the 335/337 that's advertised on the new PPK.

The proof is in the pudding though which is why the 400/400 cars need to be dynoed before the theory camp and the fictional sport display camp can be on the same page. I am in the theory camp but I believe the other camp has the upper hand here

So is the newest one available yet?

My 335xi is a July 2014 build, sitting in customs still.. My MPPK was removed from VO back in August.

Makes me wonder if this 7/1013 and on version is just being tested differently. Meaning the old kit had underrated HP numbers.

Ether way it's good news.

Initially the car shows 320/320. My car when the initial PPK was installed in April this year, the displays showed 320/400. Upon frying my DME a new one was ordered in August /September this year and the displays changed to 400/400. So I have had three sets of displays and three DMEs.

If your car comes directly from the mothership and it's a 2014 with the PPK I believe it's the new tune. It does not seem to be available from dealerships it seems. That's how this seems to play out

Let's see the kind of dyno numbers the 2014s put down to confirm
