When first starting my car this month it said service due 10/2014 or 2500mi (only have around 9500mi on the odometer) tonight I was driving to dinner and had zero power even at wot. I noticed there was a red border around the car image when starting it so now that it's 11/2013 is it in limp mode until I change the oil? The dealer said go by the mileage and my appointment isn't for another few weeks! Please help!

tell them it's at red, well i randomly checked it and took it 1000mile before,
I measured by the idrive and told me to change oil now it was at min before 1k mile of what the system says.

My car has 8700 miles on the odometer and my oil maintenance interval still says 9000 miles! I get it these cars "adapt" to your driving habits....but a combined 17700 miles to my first oil change?? Could that be right?

no way i had my first oil at like 7500 kms ~~ 4700miles or so

Ends up being a coding error saying the front brakes needed to be replaced

I'm at 13,200 and it says I have 2300 to go yet.

I talked to the dealership and once it's under 2001 miles, they'll take care of it. Prior to that and they won't cover it under warranty per BMW. So I'm nearly there... 1st oil change.
