JB4 S2 E vs F series
Anyone know the difference between the JB4 E and F series hardware? Is it possible to just pull the tune out of an E car, load the F firmware, and it's good to go? Both are N55 engines and I’m getting mixed info about this. Anyone know for sure?? If someone has a pic of the circuit board on the F series tune, that would help too. Thanks!

Jb4 is compatible with both as long as it is the same engine

The Stage 2 is different for the E9x and F series unfortunately. The E series has full in dash controls and ISO, etc. It's due to the DME differences. Stage 1 may be the same, but Stage 2 is different.
The E version has all the features of the N54 while the F version is lagging a bit behind without the tuning map and dash features. I'm really not sure if you can just swap the firmware or not. I do know that the E version has the ISO version which requires cutting a diode which the F does not. It may be possible to do a swap like you're suggesting assuming no ISO version of the E JB4 and just update the firmware with the F version. I'd ask someone from BMS to be sure though. |

There is a "Harness A", and "Harness B". Generally F30's are use "Harness B", but so do some e90's. F series also use a different firmware. As long as you have the proper harness and firmware they are interchangeable.

The 2013 and 2014 N55 engines use a completely different DME than the E9x series, so I'd be really careful trying to use E9x firmware with an F3x DME.
