Any benefit to raising hood daily?

With just normal driving in moderate temperatures i'm seeing 240-250 degrees on my temps. Would you think there is any long term beneift to raising your hood each time you come home each day from work to let the engine cool off a little quicker? Don't kick me in the nuts if this is a dumb question please

The only time I'd see it as a realistic benefit, would be during track days.
Wouldn't hurt to pop it open while back in the pits to cool it down a bit more.

It doesnt make one bit of a difference. Only thing it will do is make it easier for the local animals to get in for a nice warm nap.

Or force them out. No kidding, on my last car (STI) I had my boost guage suddenly stop working. I opened the hood, leaned in and saw that the wires and air line had been cut. Then I notice this funny feeling against my chest. I look down and it's a rabbit sitting on top of my intake! The little bugger climbed in there to get warm and chewed up my wiring.

If I rose my hood everyday after driving, and I saw those Twin Turbos, I knew I'd have to rev up the engine... I don't see how you can resist doing that, even if you have a 28.

Hey Pimp Star, how's your 135i? You should probably put like (coming soon) in your sig or something.

You can open it daily and wipe the motor area down thereby keeping it very clean. :}

I pop mine periodically to pull out the leaves and funk that get caught around the edges. Daily would be a tad excessive...

Dunno if you've noticed, there're two strainer like things that come out. I think they're for water to drain...I always find a leaf or two in them...so I take 'em out and get rid of the debris, pop them back in

My old Mercedez (2001) got really hot in summer city driving. I just pop the hood open and I can feel the hot gasses rise blow into my face while I wait for my date
