BMW 320d SE on order - Which Engine?
Hi there,
Just ordered a 320d SE a couple of weeks ago. I specified that I only wanted the 177hp (2008 model) new engine in the car. How do I know if I have the 177hp engine on delivery or if they have punted out one of the old 163hp units? Cheers! |

Same situation here. I have just sent note to dealer to make it 177bhp unit and not the 163bhp as was the initial order.
I hope they get it right, but if somehow I could genuinily verify that it is 177 in the car it would be great. |

You can not get 163 PS because in the September was whole factory adjusted for this new model...if you have ordered after that you cannot get this better motor that has 163 Ps

Sounds good!
I ordered mine on the 17th of October. I just thought there may have been a few of the old 163hp cars in stock ready to be fitted out. I asked for the 177hp unit, it will go back if not to spec. I was just wondering if there was an engine code or a specific feature that would tell me for sure that it is the 177hp engine. |

Of course there is, the engine cover under the hood is different, your exaust pipe MUST be looking backward and chromed because of DPF, not facing the floor. Also, the engine must turn off everytime you stop at traffic light and put it in neutral...
