SG owners... color question

I don't know if it is a bit of a color change on the 08 SG but when my car is clean and in the sun, at some angles it seems that there is a purple tone to the cars color. Is this in every SG or did they mix something else in my by accident ? lol

is this a serious question?

If you are, there are many threads discussing sparkling graphite paint/color and many pictures as well that a simple search can net. There is even a paint breakdown by components to explain the dynamic qualities of sparkling graphite...

I can see "purple-ish" tints sometimes... Still best color ever.

You guys do realize sparkling graphite and space grey both have the same initials right.

OP the purple phenomenon that you see is in every spark. graphite car. I have it on mine and its more apparent during sunset, but at night it looks great.

+1, I love the color. Just after I wash the car I can't stop starring at how brilliant the color shifts from different angles and light conditions. It's amazing

FWIW, I think SG looks best in overcast light, where it looks very neutral and just terrific IMO. Also, at night, it looks amazing with the point light sources of streetlamps and other car headlights. I don't like the purple tint in the sun, but tastes vary.

KL2DC - is there a breakdown of other colors, too? In particular, I wonder about Sapphire Black, which people in other threads claim has some blue to it (I don't see it, but sometimes I think there may be a hint of red in it?), and Arctic Metallic, which is really growing on me as a potential color choice.

The color is so unique.. I love it!!! Feels like I won't get sick of the color for a long time (as a lot of people say, one eventually gets sick of the anthracite color quickly). Looks so damn sexy at night too..
