Squeaky shifter.....

Last night, all of a sudden, as I was driving around, my shifter began to make odd squeaking when i put it into 1st through 3rd.....any ideas what this could be? I will take it to the dealer...but just curious if anyone else has been affected by something similar.....

i did a search but could not turn anything with the word squeaky up
