problems

hello everybody, i'm new here. just picked up my car last week, 328i coupe.
i have some questions want to ask.
i can always feel a little shaking from the break
pad when the car is idling, i put my hand on the door, also feel the shaking. the shaking is not visualable, but feelable. the dealer told me that because the car has big power. but my old acura tsx also has 200hp, but there's not that kind of shaking . is anyone else has notice that/

sorry about my poor english. hope it is understandable.

My 335i is the smoothest idling engine I've ever had. It doesn't sound right that a 328i should idle rough. I would take it in to get it looked at.

All bmws have a mechanical vibration that can be felt throughout the car. If you put your hand on the shifter, rest your arm on the door or even grip the steering wheel tightly. Its just the way they are. To me its a wonderful thing and makes the car feel alive.

If you want completely dead and quiet, get a Lexus.

You and I must be twins because I just got out of a tsx also. As for the the 328i shaking....mine does not. You can feel it a small amount in the shifter as Hyper said, but as for alot of shaking...that isn't normal.

btw...I hope the dealer meant the 328 has big power compared to the TSX, because in that case it does.....but compared to the 335i he told you a lie. lol

Just give it some time. The car is still breaking in right? You should be ok. Just keep us posted.

The engine in my E92 328 is the smoothest that I've ever driven (short of a V twelve or a rotary ). Have yours checked out. Your dealer is just blowing you off with an answer like that.

Bad batch of gas would be my first inclination.

+1

Sunoco has 94 in the GTA (which I use exclusively)...others prefer Shell's 91.

I think a lot of it has to do with the gas. Echoing everyone's advice and compeltely drain the tank and fill up with premium. If not, you might want to get it checked out.

That's true. The inline 6 sings while driving and accelerating, it's sweet. But I've often thought at a stoplight that my 335 is not perfect or silky smooth as far as idling goes. I'm fairly certain it's operating as designed, and there's nothing wrong. But it isn't one of those cars where you forgot the motor was on and turn the key so to speak....
